Character Clothing Research

When i did my character research on strong female characters, i then thought what my character is going to look like, because the look of the character helps a lot. So i looked at my characters that I've researched, and looked how they are dressed, how they present them self's and how there outfit helps towards being strong characters. So I looked though and Picked out the ones that i really like the style of  or elements of style that i think would work for my character. 

I picked:

Lisbeth Salander 

Clara Lille

Jack/Subject Zero 

Lara Croft

   

Looking at theses four characters with different but similar styles, i want to take different elements of style and make them fit to my character. Like i love Lisbeth Salander black rough baggy urban style street cloths, mix that with Lara crofts leather jacket, with a hod making the character more in the background, then have Jacks and Clara tattoos, scares and piercings to really give my character more edge. But before i can start designing my character, i need to figure out what period its set in, who or what is she, whats her skills. I need to find out them first, then i can start designing my character.
